Analysis for magnetic field disturbance of modular multilevel converter based high voltage direct current (MMC‐HVDC) converter valve

The standardised design and operational reliability enhancement of the flexible DC converter valve are impending with construction high shares renewables power electronics system. A frequency magnetic field calculation model able to obtain electromagnetic disturbance at submodule (SM) drive board during normal operation a is presented. Hundreds SMs complex structures in tower simplified by equivalent line current fulfil accuracy requirements. In addition, random function employed simulate non-sequential switching process SMs. By comparing calculated results measured data obtained from SM experiment 2200 V/2150 A, validity confirmed. According final calculations, influence cannot be ignored when recognising time-domain distribution features board. However, engineering can guided only intensity based on SM’s full removal tower.
